Made by hand, made by heart, TENUGUI is a Chusen hand dyed rectangular cloth traditionally used in Japan for many daily rituals such as a towel, bandana, handkerchief and for gift wrapping. The applications to use this cloth are endless. The various modern and traditional patterns offer a chance to explore the timeless sensibilities and qualities of Japanese crafts and culture. TENUGUI is made from 100% cotton and each item is rendered with unique graphic characteristics due to the dye producing different shades of color depending on the weather, temperature and humidity of the day. Due to the special hand dyeing technique the TENUGUI is reversible since the pattern appears both on the front and back side.

Product care: Tenugui traditionally has unhemmed ends and natural fraying is part of the beauty of Tenugui. This "unfinished" end actually helps the cloth to dry faster and prevent the end from collecting dust.
